District Foundation Chair
John Weting, D-6220 Rotary Foundation Chair First of all I want to thank DGE Tom Friese for the opportunity to serve the District as the District Rotary Foundation Chair. I am honored to have been asked and will do my best to serve the District well.
I would like to request that all Rotary Club Presidents and/or the Club Foundation Chairs save the date of October 4 or 11 to attend a District Foundation Seminar. The seminar on the 4th will be held in Wisconsin and the one in the 11th will be held in Michigan, details will follow, but please keep one of these dates open. We are preparing what we hope will be a very informative seminar on how your Rotary Club can get the most out of your Rotary Foundation contributions!
You can begin by reviewing the RI Foundation Web site. This site will explain how your Rotary Club can request up to 20 percent of your District Designated Fund (DDF) for a grant to support multiple projects locally or internationally. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to present a program on The Rotary Foundation to your Rotary Club; all I need is an invitation. As you plan future programs, please remember to have at least one program in November on the Rotary Foundation, as November is Foundation Month.
